Bio: I graduated from GSA and Hospitalfield in 1965. I then worked as an art teacher at Schools and FE Colleges until retiral in 90s. From 70s to millennium I was a part time tutor in Modern Art for the OU. In the 70s I exhibited with the Glasgow League of Artists and sold a few paintings in oil and gouache to private collectors.
For the past few years I have been working solely in watercolour and gouache, as I now find these mediums easier for me to handle. I have been submitting work to the RGI, Paisley Art Gallery and the Stranraer Museum and Art Gallery for the past few years. At the latter I sold 3 paintings last year. I paint figures in various situations derived from my personal and family experiences, amalgamating ideas from sketch pads and photos accumulated over travel in Europe and beyond. My main interest is in developing these images in harmonies and discords of colour and harmony.
