Bio: Annemarie Murland is originally from Glasgow but now resides and works in Newcastle, Australia. Murland maintains an international exhibiting portfolio whose ideas-led art practice is concerned with the aesthetics of migration and how this as a corporeal, felt experience translates into material form. Her creative praxis is interdisciplinary with a particular interest in abstract drawing and painting, she also engages in artistic research, social practice, collaborative and curatorial projects. Murland’s professional history is in tertiary education and creative pedagogy and the broader cultural and creative industries. Dr Annemarie Murland is currently the foundation studies Course Coordinator of Visual Art at the University of Newcastle, NSW, Australia.
