Bio: As a recent graduate from Fine Art Photography at The Glasgow School of Art, Charlotte Elizabeth Roberts is a visual artist and photographer whose work recontextualises historical ideas and beliefs into imagery and interactive experiences. The artist considers the idea that culture could replace religious scriptures as a guidance for achieving self-actualization. The works explore the role of ritual throughout history which is expressed through the environment in which the work is made.
The work reflects the artists personal battle between romanticism and classicism. The artist considers these two polar ideologies and how her practice can merge the two concepts to better prepare us for the post-romantic era that lies ahead of us.
