Bio: After careers in palaeontology and conservation at The Natural History Museum, London, conservation education at the Royal College of Art and Victoria & Albert Museum, and research at the UK’s National Archives, I returned to Scotland to focus on art.
My works can begin with gestural marks influenced by elements of landscape, the structure of forms, or a notion of the processes that produced them. My works may also be a personal response to a place or the feeling of a place, and I intend that the image I create reflects the experience of its making as well as the fleeting experiences of seeing.
