Bio: Zoe Scott is a Scottish artist working in concrete. She endeavours to challenge the perceptions of concrete as a brutal, industrial material and to elevate it from the mundane. She creates collections of work exploring environmental issues. Each sculpture is hand build over several weeks, allowing layers of concrete to dry before applying new layers or removing sections. A variety of techniques are used in each sculpture, each unique. The sculptures encourage interaction and conversation. Her latest work focuses on the humanity of climate change, our interactions with the landscape and individual responsibility to protect the world and its inhabitants. She has exhibited in the National Galleries of Scotland in Edinburgh as part of the Royal Scottish Academy’s Annual Exhibition 2020 and recently won the Beltane Foundry Award from Paisley Art Institutes 132rd Annual Exhibition.
