Edge Land

Artist: Amanda Adam

Bio: As a Scottish landscape painter, I work mainly on site in Fife or the Highlands and Islands, often battling all weathers. Using mixed media, layering, scraping and rubbing back then re – drawing into the work. I don’t paint what I see I paint what I feel, what I sense. the light, the space, the elements and the ever present influences of man. I see landscape in colours others might not, fields and mountains of pinks and reds, mauves and yellow. Graduating with a BA (hons) in Fine art in 2015, I went on to achieve an MFA in Art and Humanities and a Royal Scottish Academy New Contemporary award in 2016. I travelled extensively throughout Asia, Australia, USA and Europe in 2019 experiencing new and diverse landscapes, creating works, based on my experiences.
